It Is Extremely Cold At The Bottom: The Chronicles of John Doe

Introduction 

Please don’t get confused, I am not talking about Antarctica and the South Pole but I am rather talking about working for different companies for years on end until you retire, and without even reaching a management position. As human beings, we always tend to settle for what we know adds no value to us for the sake of our families and kids, and without really considering the consequences of regret we might have later on in life. 

Chapter One 

You can go anywhere around the world, and you will sadly come to realize that most labourers are extremely talented and highly skilled individuals, but they do not channel those skills and talents in the right manner. I say labourers because I am specifically referring to those individuals who are positioned at the very bottom and who work in factories, construction and warehouses with very little pay. It is extremely sad to realize that most of these people are actually willing to stay at the bottom and suffer for the rest of their working lives...

People choose to stay at the bottom simply because of fear and they always have excuses so that they can be able to justify themselves, “life is hard”, I have kids, I have a family, I have to take care of my bills or now is not the right time.” All these are some of the excuses which they use in order not to look or feel guilty. Most people are paralyzed by fear, fear of failure and the fear of being criticized by others; this is so unhealthy because people are missing out on opportunities and all the best this life has to offer. 

Most people are so accustomed to the idea of staying at the bottom that they do not even bother themselves with asking for a promotion or simply applying for any vacancies that may appear from time to time. Most people are so driven by fear that they have become so accustomed to the idea of always being last in everything that they do, especially work-related.

Chapter Two 

Yet another sad reality is that nepotism also plays a major role in people giving up and deciding to very well stay at the bottom. Most people at the bottom stay there simply because mostly it is friends, close relatives, family and other business associates who get to fill all the management positions while if you do not have some sort of affiliation you get to suffer. 

Sometimes the fear of asking for a promotion or applying for any vacancies may simply appear out of nowhere, because sometimes chances may be very slim for you to get that vacant post you have applied for or the odds may be very well against you. It is without a doubt that nepotism exists... that’s because day in, day out complaints pop up everywhere you can imagine as people are being treated unfairly especially concerning management positions in particular...

Nepotism is simply a plaque because it completely robs a lot of people of the chance to survive, strive and SUCCEED, and it simply neutralizes them completely. Sometimes it is so easy to give up and feel useless, unworthy and demotivated when you know that you will never be treated fairly or as an equal simply because someone else out there thinks and feels like you deserve to be sinking down below.

Family-run companies always and often fall victim to the nepotism plaque simply because they always prefer to hire family members (their Children)... Close relatives and close friends even though some or most of them do not have the needed experience, necessary skills and knowledge of the positions they are filing or even worse the whole idea of the establishment.

A determined soul is a soul that is very likely to SUCCEED and prosper. Most people who find themselves at the bottom are not even determined to SUCCEED instead they would rather put the blame on someone else, which is the easiest thing to do. Without education, most people are doomed forever because it can sometimes prove to be very difficult to get employed at all and if you do.
