Entrepreneurship (I Am Amongst The Elite): The Chronicles Of John Doe

Introduction 

Chairman of the Board John Doe is 20 minutes early for an urgent business meeting. It had been reported that the directors of the company were called to the office in order to discuss and formulate strategic plans that will help maintain the company's profits.

Chapter One 

The world is going through an economic crisis, economic recession to be exact. Big multinational companies are withdrawing their offshore investments, filing for bankruptcy, and cutting jobs respectively, but John-Doe was not going to allow his company to go through that. It is still not clear how this crisis will turn out, the situation could ease up in a couple of weeks or the situation could worsen in the next coming months.

Doe Investment Holdings had reported a loss two financial years ago, luckily the damage was not so severe as the company did not cut jobs for its employees however this year is very different and the future seems uncertain.

Chapter Two

Thirty minutes later every member of the board had arrived and everyone had taken their seat at the table once every member had been seated John-Doe proceeded with the meeting as planned. 

Thank you for being here at such short notice ladies and gentlemen, said John as he made eye contact with everyone as a way of acknowledging everyone's presence in the meeting. It has come to my attention, John as he was addressing a room full of executives, that we are going to hit a few stumbling blocks moving forward as a company. The global economic-financial crisis could prove to be catastrophic especially in the long run because our competitors are closing shop due to a lack of finances and resources, however, on the other hand, I certainly believe that Doe Investment Holdings is in a much better position financially. 

I called this urgent meeting because I believe that we can work together as a collective in order to make sure our company flourishes even in these difficult times.
